Privacy Policy

Mars Studios LLC ("Mars Studios," "we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle information in connection with this website, marsstudios.com, and with our apps and games.

Last updated: September 15, 2026.

Information we collect

This website is a simple informational site. We do not use cookies, advertising trackers, or third-party analytics to profile visitors. Our web host may automatically record standard technical logs — such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested — for security and reliability, as is typical of any website.

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive the information you choose to share — your email address, your name if you provide it, and the contents of your message. We use it only to respond to you and to follow up if needed. We don't sell it or share it with anyone who isn't helping us reply.

Surveys and feedback forms

From time to time we may put a short survey or feedback form on this site, usually for people testing one of our games. If you fill one in, we receive exactly what you type, including your name if you choose to give it. We use it only to decide how to build the thing you're giving us feedback on. It is stored on our own server and sent to our own email — no third party receives it, we don't sell it or share it, and it isn't connected to anything you do inside our apps. Answering is entirely optional, and you can ask us to delete your response at any time.

Our apps and games

Our apps and games have no accounts and no logins. We do not ask for access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, or any other device permission, and we never receive personal information about you ourselves.

Anything an app remembers — your settings, your best score, and how far you've progressed — is stored on your own device, and we never receive it.

On iPhone, Tetherfall also keeps a copy of your progress (not your settings), along with the counters that space out its ads, in your own iCloud account, so it comes back if you reinstall the game or move to a new iPhone. That copy is held by Apple under your Apple Account, and we cannot see it. On Android, your phone's own backup to your Google account can restore it the same way. You can erase your progress, including those copies, from the game's Options screen.

If an app offers a way to share your result, it hands the text to your device's own share sheet, and nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose a destination and send it yourself.

Advertising

Tetherfall shows ads. There are two kinds: a short ad between some runs, and an optional ad you can choose to watch to keep going after you fail. The optional one is never forced — declining it simply ends the run.

The ads are delivered by Unity, through its LevelPlay service, operated by ironSource Mobile Ltd. Unity also acts as a mediator: it selects from several advertising companies to fill each slot, so the company that supplies a given ad may not be Unity itself. Unity's own policy covering this is at Unity's Privacy Policy.

The game does not ask for access to your device's advertising identifier, and on Android it does not request the advertising ID permission. We do not use your device's advertising identifier to track you across other companies' apps and websites, and we do not build a profile of you or your interests. On Apple devices this is why the game never shows the “Ask App Not to Track” prompt: we are not asking to track you, so there is nothing to ask.

To show an ad and to count it, these companies receive some information from your device. That typically includes your IP address, the type of device and operating system, and identifiers used to limit how often you see the same ad and to detect fraud and invalid traffic. They handle this as the providers of the ads, under their own terms.

We never see any of it. What reaches us is aggregate reporting — how many ads were shown and what they earned — which is not tied to any individual person or device.

Choices about advertising in Europe and the UK

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the game asks you before it requests its first ad. It asks whether information may be stored on and read from your device for advertising purposes. This is asked because limiting repeat ads and detecting fraud involve storing information on the device.

If you say no, the game shows you no ads at all and the advertising software is never started, so nothing is stored and nothing is sent. You can change your answer at any time from the game's Options screen.

Selling and sharing

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are used in California and other US state privacy laws. We signal this to our advertising partners for every player, everywhere, rather than waiting to be asked.

Removing the ads

Tetherfall offers a one-time purchase that removes the ads between runs. The purchase is handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play — we never see your payment details, and we are told only that the purchase happened. Watching an optional ad to keep going after you fail works the same way for everyone, including people who have bought it.

How we protect information

We keep the information we hold to a minimum and take reasonable measures to protect it. We only retain contact correspondence for as long as it's useful to help you.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, at any time. Just email us and we'll take care of it.

Children's privacy

Neither this website nor our apps are directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through them. Our games are not designed for or aimed at children, and we tell our advertising partner that our games are not directed at children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date above.
